Late night summer haunts
Open until the early hours are the chiringuitos or beach bars. At the roundabout at Oliva Playa, turn right past the telephone kiosk and follow the beach road for a mile. You willll come to three or four of these bars, but they do seem to chop and change and move up and down the coast.
There are also a couple of beach restaurants where good paellas and fidueás can be enjoyed, near the telephone kiosk at Oliva Playa. Try Deportes, it is superb. (Remember paella or its macaroni-based equivalent, fideuá, are really lunchtime dishes. No self-respecting Spaniard would order a paella for dinner).
