The Iglesia (or church) of Santa María is considered a splendid example of
Valencian architecture of the period. It has three naves, and the vaulted apse
containing the altar, the bell-tower and the chapel of the Virgen del Rosario
are the most striking features of this church that started off being built in
the Baroque style and was finished off with classical-academist techniques.
The church’s interior is an exclusive museum of ornaments, images and religious
artefacts throughout which you will find, amongst other pieces, a 16th-century
chalice belonging to the Centelles family.
A good example of Valencian architecture of the epoch, it has three Naves.
It was begun in the Baroque style and was ended in the academic – classical
style. It shelters a museum of ornaments, images and gold work, in which it
is possible to see, among other pieces, a chalice from the Centelles family
from the XVI century.
